It's simple and flat design offers a good weight in your hand, while the blade opens smoothly and black locks solidly. This version features walnut handles, a C75 carbon steel blade, and a lock back mechanism. Carbon steel means unalloyed steel, which is made almost exclusively of iron and to a small extent (0.5 to 1.4%) carbon. It has a high hardness so it retains a sharp edge and can be ground particularly fine without breaking. It will develop a patina, characterized by a distinct discoloration.
